1st XV Away to Billingham – Saturday 16th November 2024

Lymm make the long trip north to take on old adversaries Billingham on Saturday, buoyed by their performance against Leeds Tykes last time out and the luxury of being able to select a largely unchanged squad from that match – the only change being the replacement of injured young centre Toby Wilson with the available again Jack Reynolds.  The Lymm contingent will no doubt be expecting a tough challenge from Billingham, a team and club we know very well, having played each other regularly since the 2010/11 season.  Both clubs were promoted to Level 5 that year with both moving up to Level 4 in lockstep at the start of the 23/24 season.

Since 2010 the clubs have met 20 times with the spoils being equally shared, as the fixture has 9 wins apiece with 2 draws – albeit Billingham shade it marginally on points scored 505 vs 475.  With this fixture last season having ended in a 25-25 draw, it is certain to go down to the wire on Saturday.
