Lymm travel to the Apollo Capital Stadium on Saturday for their fixture against Harrogate having had a comfortable 57-24 win in the corresponding home game at the beginning of October. This was the 8th meeting between the clubs since the 2012/13 season, over which Harrogate have held the upper hand with 5 wins to Lymm’s 3, and a convincing points-scored superiority of 189 to 123.  In fact, Lymm have only won once on the road claiming a narrow 21-20 win in 2018.

Harrogate, who were promoted from North East Regional 1 (Level 5) at the end of last season, currently sit at the bottom of the league table with just 2 wins and a draw from 15 games.  They have however, shown improved form in their last 2 games having lost 18-15 at Wharfedale to a last minute penalty and running Preston Grasshoppers close at Lightfoot Green last weekend. So, they shouldn’t be underestimated especially with them being back on home turf.

Although Lymm’s narrow victory last Saturday against Sheffield Tigers was less than convincing the outing will have got the team back up and running after the extended Christmas break.  Still sitting joint top of the league with Leeds Tykes they should travel to Harrogate with a reasonable amount of confidence.  Kick Off is 2:00pm.

Lymm 2nd XV are at home to Preston Grasshoppers KO 2:15pm in Round 2 of the NOWIRUL Primo Drinks CUP – 2024/2025
