Sale Sharks and England star Ben Curry visits Lymm.
Lymm/Ashton-on-Mersey U16’s & Lymm Junior Colts, enjoyed an evening coaching session under the direction of Ben Curry (Sale Sharks and England) at training on Tuesday.
The players were asked to consider their own body position and make decisions at the break down. A really good night for all, as a number of M&J coaches were there to observe and take part in a Q&A session at the end. However, most of the questions were asked by 12year old Isaac Millachip! A chip off the old block, pardon the pun!
Re Lymm/Ashton-on-Mersey U16’s
Both Lymm & Ashton-on-Mersey U16’s teams, were short in numbers at the start of the season. So, they decided to merge their squads and now have 26 players. This collaboration has ensured that the teams wouldn’t fold and players from both clubs could continue to enjoy playing rugby.
Firstly a big congratulations to the lads for what was an outstanding performance against Chester and a 43-10 win!!! A very different game to the game earlier this season. ( Lost 49-7)
This is our 4th consecutive win and demonstrates how far the lads have come since we created the Lymm-Ashton team.
Each week we continue to improve as a team and I expect this to continue all the way through to the end of the season. Our improvement will come from 100% commitment in training, taking on board lessons learned from the matches (win or lose), and most importantly, the lads working hard for each other during the games.
Next Sunday we have Knutsford at home and the following week we have our first cup game against Stockport. We are building nicely, both in terms of execution and also in confidence.
