Chris Newman Jnr RIP – Funeral Arrangements

The Lymm Rugby Club Colts team of 2007-2009 are saddened to hear of the sudden passing of former team-mate Chris Newman.

On the pitch Chris was a natural leader, someone who you could count on each week to give absolutely everything for the team. His relentlessly physical approach to the game was in stark contrast to the person he was off the pitch – a kind, approachable and laid back lad with time for anyone who was fortunate enough to be in his presence.

All the boys thoughts are with Chris’ family and friends at this extremely difficult time and we hope they can take some small comfort knowing that he was a hugely respected and well-liked figure in a team where no doubt he had fond memories of playing a sport he loved so much.

Chris’s funeral is at 12.20pm on Wednesday 13th October at Warrington Crematorium followed by food and drink at Alford Hall, Manchester Road, Warrington WA1 3NJ.

Chris’s father, Chris Snr would love to see the lads and parents who stood watching or played with Chris, at his old club, during his happy times in the minis and juniors and the colts.
