2024 saw the Doddie Wear Team successfully cycle 3000km across Europe over 9 days during the All Roads Lead to Rome challenge. The Team raised an unprecedented £216,091 for The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, smashing their fundraising target for the challenge. This would not have been possible without the support of the many Sponsors joining their Team.
The team will join Rob Wainwright again in 2025 for the next Crazy Cycle.
Rob will lead a team of Scottish Rugby legends from the South West of Scotland to cover a route of around 700 miles over 4 days, culminating in a celebration in Edinburgh on Saturday 8th February, ahead of Scotland taking on Ireland at Murrayfield on the 9th.
A select group is adding an additional 300miles to the main event. This select group is starting from Lymm on Sunday 2nd February and will visit Warrington Wolves, Chester RFC and Mold RFC before spending the night in Ruthun.
On Monday 3rd they will cycle across to Holyhead visiting a number of schools as well as Nant Conwy and Bethesda rugby clubs.
On Tuesday 4th they will join up with the core Doddie team including Rob Wainright and Paul Wallace in Dublin to ride up to Belfast, where they will be meeting the majority of riders in Stranraer on Tuesday night in preparation for the 4 day tour of Scotland.
The Lymm timetable is as follows:
10:00am Arrival of Doddie’5 Gr4nd S7am team. They will all be arriving in vehicles and then unloading bikes and getting kit organised for the day ahead.
10:15am – Coffee and bacon butty
10:30am – Team Ambassador (probably Roger Baird) to address the Lymm RFC M&J’s to tell them what they are doing and why. This is a chance for the young players (and parents) to meet with Roger, Iwan Tukalo and Tony Copsey.
10:45am – Cyclists depart – if there are any cyclists in the club who want to join them, they would be very welcome.
