It is with great sadness that we report the death of Gordon Kennedy, who died on Friday 7th September aged 86. Gordon has been in poor health for the last few years and died in Warrington Hospital.
Gordon served as Club Secretary for a number of years and was one of the original ‘Lymm Forkers’, helping to maintain what was then, our only pitch and club surrounds. Following his retirement, he used his practical DIY skills to good effect by refurbishing the middle bar area at the club, which is a visible testament to his memory.
Gordon was also an active member of Cheshire RFU for many years, in particular serving on their Competitions Committee and on the East Cheshire Disciplinary Committee. He will be sadly missed by us all.
We send our deepest sympathy to his daughter Lynne & son Peter. There will be no funeral, as Gordon has donated his body for medical research. Prior to the 1st XV match against Blaydon on Saturday 22nd September, there will be a one minutes silence in Gordon’s memory.
