Apart from Premiership & Championship Rugby, there were no RFU league matches on Saturday 8th October in England. There are a number of ‘break’ weekends throughout the season to allow catch up of postponed games and more importantly in the modern game, players to rest and recover from niggling injuries.
However, on Sunday 9th October, there was a full activity programme at Lymm for their M&J’s & Colts. Under 5s & U6s were training and every age group from U7s to U16s were either home or away to Crewe & Nantwich, with the Senior Colts at home to Kirkby Lonsdale. Lymm’s excellent Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP), together with well-tended grass pitches facilitate this busy Sunday rugby programme. This wouldn’t be possible without our voluntary and dedicated grounds team, who maintain our excellent playing facilities and surrounds. Thank you guys.
Lymm U16s 70 – 0 Crewe & Nantwich U16s
Lymm entertained Crewe & Nantwich U16s at home. C&N looked a big physical squad and early encounters proved as much. However, even with a few key players unavailable, Lymm raised their game with a solid defence and excellent game management.
Impressive handling and a powerful display by their forwards in the end proved to be too much for our visitors. Lymm try scorers: Gibbon 4, Crow 3, Steele, Lavender, Cummings, Butler, Wardle
Our Senior Colts didn’t fare so well
Lymm U18s 12 – 38 Kirkby Lonsdale U18s
