A Lymm Rugby Club Under 9’s player, Phoebe Spencer, was so delighted with Lymm’s First XV win over Leeds Tykes she was desperate to meet some of the players.

Having played rugby since she was 4 years old Phoebe was then delighted to receive a rugby ball signed by the entire team, in thanks for her support.

Forming part of the Guard on Honour on the day, Phoebe is one of two girls in the Lymm Under 9’s squad and is looking forward to being joined by lots more girls.

‘I’ve been playing rugby with my older brother Isaac for ages and actually play all year round now, including rugby league,’ said Phoebe. ‘I was so excited to watch our team win and I am a huge fan. I’m not going to play with this ball outside as I want to display it at home.’

Charlie Osborne, the Under 9’s coach, recognises a star in the making. ‘Phoebe is a great runner with the ball and loves tackling. She’s a great all-rounder and we’re in the process of building a Women’s Section at Lymm. I am sure Phoebe will be a great part of that in the future,’ he added.

If you are interested in being part of the Women’s Section at Lymm Rugby Club please contact Will Hind, the Mini and Junior Chairman, at MJchairman@lymmrugby.co.uk
