Friday 16th Sept 7pm will see Sandbach RUFC travel to Lymm RFC alongside Wirral RUFC , Chester RUFC and Macclesfield RFC for the first of our newly formed ‘Cheshire Rugby Cluster’ which has been formed simply to allow more players to engage in the game we all love !
After a number of discussions and meetings all 5 clubs have agreed to support the initiative that simply will aim to offer an opportunity for their players (past, present or future) to play in their clubs colours (format will depend on many factors !) at key times of the year ….
This dovetails with the RFU’s campaigns;
Pitch Up & Play & Play Together & Stay Together
Although this project is aimed at those players who may have left the game, need additional game time, a return into the game or an introduction to the game there is no exact science to recruitment and retention and therefore every club, committed to this will have a slightly different approach to the players that attend.
It is hoped this will not impact on schools, colts or senior mens programmes but an avenue for likeminded clubs who have transition as a cornerstone of their foundations to come together and offer rugby.
