Under 16’s Entertain Preston Grasshoppers

Lymm Thunder (U16’s) entertained Preston Grasshoppers on Sunday 25th September 2022, in what turned out to be a game of 2 halves. Preston have always provided strong opposition & with 10 or so Lymm lads attending Sale DPP, expectations were high, that this encounter would be no different.

Regardless, the pre-game talk focused on 3 areas for the lads to concentrate on, that would be pivotable in helping them achieve victory. One team then executed those points to perfection – unfortunately, that wasn’t the Lymm team and as half time approached, Lymm were 31 points to nil down.

The lads reaffirmed the 3 core areas to be addressed at halftime & then came out, desperate to show the large crowd what they could do. And they didn’t disappoint. The 0-31 score line, was turned round with 4 unanswered tries, to 24-31 with 5 minutes to go. But try as they might, they couldn’t quite cross the line in the final moments, for what would have been a very impressive draw, considering the position they had found themselves in initially.
