Sandbach Senior Colts 15 – 29 Lymm Senior Colts

Lymm travelled to Sandbach in the Cheshire Cup quarterfinals last Sunday.

Having managed to get to (at least) the semi-final stages in the Cheshire Cup at U15, U16 & Jnr Colts, Lymm were keen to keep the sequence going, knowing that Sandbach were going to be very tough opposition on their own patch.

Lymm came out of the blocks quickly scoring the first try of the game after 5 mins. A period then followed with both defences on top, with just a sole Sandbach penalty, making the score 5-3 to Lymm at the break.

Lymm managed to score the next try, to ease the nerves and then as the teams exchanged further tries, managed to always stay the 2 scores ahead, running out much deserved winners by 29-15.

Lymm’s hopes are to go on to replicate the U16 season and bring the trophy back to Lymm, to round off a fantastic 12/13 years with this great bunch of lads.

Lymm have been drawn away to Macclesfield in the Semi Final on the 23^rd March.
